Office Policies
Office Hours & Appointments
Our regular office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Fridays.
Appointments are scheduled for all patients who wish to see the physician and/or therapist, whether as a new patient or one who returns for follow-up visits. We try to schedule all appointments to reduce waiting time and to provide each patients optimal care.
A referral from another physician is not required to come to this office; however, your insurance may require a referral from a primary care physician. This would need to be taken care of by your primary care physician before calling to make an appointment with our specialists. If you cannot keep your appointment for any reason, please call to cancel so that we can give this time to another patient.
Your First Visit
At your first visit, you will be asked to complete a patient information form that will provide us with the necessary information in setting up your account and medical records. Be sure to bring your insurance card and picture ID. Also, when your insurance requires referral to a specialist, be sure to bring the necessary referral form from your primary care physician. If you have a question about this, please call us ahead of time and we will try to help you determine what is necessary to bring with you for your appointment.
Also, please bring x-rays, lab reports, other test results, etc. regarding your problem.
Surgery
When surgery is necessary as part of your care, the physician will explain the nature of the procedure, benefits and risks involved, both in having and not having the surgery. If you elect to have surgery, our staff will work with you in scheduling your procedure at the appropriate facility. Should you need to cancel or reschedule your surgery once arrangements have been made, please call us and let us know immediately.
Emergencies
We always prefer to handle routine problems during office hours. However, we know that urgent situations arise, and as a service to you we make ourselves available after normal working hours. If an emergent situation arises after office hours, call our answering service at (864) 585-4263. A physician is always on call to respond to your urgent medical problem. In case of a life threatening emergency, go directly to the nearest hospital emergency room.
Prescriptions Refills
Please call to prescription refills during office hours. Be sure to have your pharmacy telephone number available. Prescriptions will not be called in after hours.
